California governor-to-be Gavin Newsom disclosed an affair with his campaign manager's wife in 2007. This is relevant now because Newsom is virtually guaranteed to win and become California's new boss, and because it shows that the techniques we explore here also apply to past (and not only contemporary) events. As always with ethics scandals, we are looking for a Jupiter-to-Pallas transit... Jupiter for publicity and Pallas for ethics, generally accompanied by a major outer-planet transit which represents a significant change in status. A Uranus-to-Jupiter or similar transit also seems to be a common feature of ethics scandals. Here we have transiting Pluto at 28 Sagittarius trine his Jupiter at 28 Leo. We've been exploring the possibility that transiting Pallas against a natal chart can correspond with events in which "the truth comes out" against a backdrop of obfuscation and/or false information. Transiting Pallas then at 12 Aquarius was square Newsom's Mercury at 11 Scorpio. Newsom's Mars at 20 Sagittarius is square California's Sun at 16 Virgo. His North Node at 28 Aries is conjunct California's Pluto at 29 Aries, and his South Node at 28 Libra is conjunct California's Venus at 1 Scorpio. His natal chart isn't so bad on "The Axis of Good and Evil", but these days Pluto and Pallas are strongly intertwined in his astrology.
